Over the past 20 years, KLD has performed numerous ride quality acceptance tests for transportation vehicles.

Tri-Axis acceleration data and vehicle speed are recorded in real-time. Immediately following each test run, the data is processed through a FFT (Fast Fourier Transform) real-time spectrum analyzer to provide the PSD (Power Spectral Distribution) of acceleration and the RMS value of the PSD (in units of "g") for the frequency range of human perception. This is then compared to vehicle ride quality acceptance levels for report generation and acceptance.
